Isn’t it frustrating when you copy and paste someone else’s writing into your blog, only to have some interfering busybody point out that you aren’t the original author. They might even go so far as to email the *real* author to tell them you have copied their work. And all you were doing was quite innocently trying to pretend you had some knowledge you didn’t have. How unsporting of them. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

If, like me, you are old enough to remember the book “Logarithms and Other Mathematical Tables” from your schooldays, but you hanker for something with a little more substance - something that will take a bit longer to read - then this might be the book you have been yearning for. It’s just too bad the “search inside” facility for this book only goes as far as page 6 … there’s another 594 pages before you get to the end - although to be fair the first 6 pages give a very good flavour of what’s to come.
Make sure you take a look at the customer reviews too.
You’ve seen The Secret.
You’ve seen The Secret behind The Secret. <– this one is a MUST SEE, trust me, it really is.
But are you ready for … The Secret of The Secret Behind The Secret?

Do you know someone who is terminally gullible? Do they believe every crackpot story they hear, spend thousands every year on ebooks from self-styled internet gurus who promise them the secret to riches? Do they believe that spirit mediums can contact the dead, or that homeopathic remedies can make you well? Do they pass on every “Virus Warning” they receive? Do they forward every email Chain Letter to “Ten of their contacts” in the hope that “Good luck will come [their] way today”?

Rising uncharacteristically early this morning, I turned on the radio and tuned to Radio 4. By chance I caught the tail end of an Avant Garde poetry program, and although I’m not normally impressed with such things, preferring more traditional forms of poetry, I was blown away by the simplicity of structure, the tempo, and the apparent lack of respect for any established poetical conventions. Even though the words have no apparent meaning in themselves, they speak directly to the subconscious in a way I’ve not encountered before. Wonderful stuff!

You might have heard of a system of self-discovery named “Core Process”. This involves a lengthy session with a specially trained[1] Core Process Psychotherapist where your innermost self - your Real Self™ will be revealed to you and encapsulated for all time in a pithy two word verb-noun phrase[2].

Recently, I’ve been reading lots of rubbish about the so-called LoG (Law Of Gravity). In case you’ve not heard about it (unlikely as that might be) it appears that way back in the 17th century, some smarty-pants called Isaac Newton was sitting under an apple tree and an apple fell on his head. Now, that must have addled his brain somewhat, because he came up with this bizarre notion about objects attracting one another.
But even more bizarrely, when he told people about it, they didn’t say to him “Isaac, you’ve been out in the sun too long.” Oh, no; instead they said “Hmm, you might be on to something there, matey. Why not write a book about it?” And so was born Newton’s Principia which proposes the so-called Inverse Square Law. Now, any sensible person reading the Principia nowadays would dismiss it as complete tosh. Full of arcane formulae and explanations for things that really need no explanation. And to think that he actually tried to give credence to this ridiculous idea by swinging a bucket around his head. Really, Isaac, you should have got out more.

I’m not normally one to scaremonger, but I think everyone should be aware of the dangers from the widespread use of Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO).
The following are taken from www.dhmo.org.
What is DHMO?
Dihydrogen Monoxide, or DHMO, is a colorless and odorless chemical that kills or maims thousands each year, primarily through accidental inhalation. It has also been revealed to be a causative agent in many environmental exposure incidents, industrial contaminations, automobile accidents, and property damage. The dollar amount losses caused, and the lives impacted, by the DHMO threat are virtually innumerable.

Late summer, 2003. It was a beautiful evening, we were just sitting down to tea - Me, Mrs. S, and my two daughters. From where I was sitting, I could see the front door, and I noticed two men approaching up the drive. Black trousers, white shirts and ties. One of them was carrying a clipboard.
One of them knocked on the door, quite hard. “Not more double-glazing salesmen,” I said, “I’ll get rid of them”. We’d had quite a rash of them lately; double-glazing, fascias, driveways, patios, gutters; you name it, we’d had it several times over. You’d think they’d have got the message by now.
Anyway, I went to the door. “Hello?” I said.
Clipboard flashed his warrant card. “Thames Valley CID. Can we have a word?” The other guy, a little older, with glasses, also produced a warrant card.
